Siesta Key Condo Travel Information

Siesta Key is a barrier island located four to five miles Southwest of Sarasota, FL on the Gulf of Mexico. Accessible by excellent highways and state routes around Sarasota Bay, travelers cross over the inland waterway (on either the north or south bridges) to arrive on Siesta Key. There are many luxurious Siesta Key condos and private homes for rent or sale. A Siesta Key condo has become a cherished treasure, held on to by families, generation after generation!

Siesta Key has a number of beaches, but it is best known for its Crescent Beach, consistently considered to be one of the top ten beaches in the world. The beach is very wide with white quartz sand, often described as like "powdered sugar", that is always cool with a silky smooth texture. Crescent Beach is ideal for walking and the gulf waters are excellent for swimming during most of the year! One can swim, parasail, create sand sculptures, or watch marvelous sunsets over the Gulf. The public beach, located near the center of Crescent Beach, is patrolled by lifeguards and is close to food and lavatory facilities. It is a great place to bring the kids, surfboards, kayaks, kites, shovels and pails, chairs, hampers, and umbrellas to spend the entire day. Vacationing or living on Siesta Key is to enjoy living in a true tropical paradise.

Small boutiques and excellent restaurants abound on both Siesta Key, near by St. Armands Circle, and Sarasota; their offerings vary to fit any person's pocketbook. In fact, St. Armands Circle is known as the Rodeo Drive of Florida. Sarasota is well known for its culture and performing arts, which include the Asolo Repertory Theater, The Players Performing Arts Studio, Sarasota Opera, the Florida West Coast Symphony, Sarasota Ballet of Florida, the Florida String Quartet, and the Florida Symphonic Band, as well as several other vocal and chamber ensembles and an active theatre district, including marvelous performances and lectures at the VanWezel.

Since golf was introduced to Florida and Sarasota from Scotland in 1886 when the first course was designed, the sport remains very popular. More than thirty courses are located within minutes of the Siesta Key Beach / downtown Sarasota area.

Sarasota is the spring training home for the Cincinnati Reds. Greyhound (dog) racing takes place from late December to mid April at the Sarasota Kennel Club. Many more activities are available for the interested visitor. You can learn more about all that is available on Siesta Key by calling the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce (866) 831-7778. Vacationers interested in securing a Siesta Key Beach Condo for a month long condo rental (or more) may make inquiries by emailing info@siestakeybeachcondo.com.
